EBC Update: Response to Changing Restrictions
Dear Eastwood Baptist Church,
You may have already seen the media release from the NSW government informing everyone that from Monday 1st June 2020, up to 20 people can attend weddings, 50 at funerals, and 50 at places of worship, subject to the four square metre rule.
This is certainly welcome news, and a good sign that we are continuing to head in a positive direction.
The diaconate will meet on Wednesday 3rd June to make decisions on how we might begin to re-open Sunday gatherings and the modifications necessary to make this possible. At this stage, the earliest we can envision possibly resuming Sunday worship gatherings would be Sunday 14th June. The format will likely be significantly different to what church services looked like before the pandemic. The leadership of EBC will continue to provide updates as they are available through the church website and email list.
At this stage, the information sessions at the church scheduled for the 7th of June at 9am, 11am, 2pm, and 8pm via zoom will proceed as planned, though now not limited to 10 people at a time. The information sessions scheduled for the 14th June are on hold for the time being, subject to the changes we are likely to confirm in the coming week.
Do bear with us as we learn to adjust again to this rapidly changing environment.
The peace of Christ be with you all,
Rev. Jonny Lam (Transitional Pastor)
On behalf of the leadership of Eastwood Baptist Churc
