Weekly News - Friday 1st May 2020
Hello and welcome to our weekly news
Eastwood and Pennant Hills Baptist Combined Prayer Meeting
Our churches will meet online (via zoom) for a special prayer meeting on
Wednesday 20th May, 8pm. The focus will be on the revitalisation and rebirth of our church.
A new name The Revitalisation Team is officially inviting submissions for the naming of the new church we are hoping to launch in our revitalisation of Eastwood Baptist. Here is the process and timeline for how this will take place:
Publish vision document (done)
Receive suggestions for the name of the new work
a. Anyone with ‘skin in the game’ can present a written suggestion.
b. At this point in time, email or snail mail would be the most realistic ways of getting a submission in. Contact anyone on the revitalisation team (Jonny, Warwick, Alfee, Gideon, or the church office – email@example.com)
c. Include a brief explanatory rationale to explain why the name is suitable, preferably addressing the vision document.
d. Deadline May 31
3. Revitalisation team to vet name proposals, and present a shortlist.
4. Voting on a name
a.. Everyone with ‘skin-in-the-game’ can vote
b. Each person has 3 votes which can be cast in any way they would like. You could put all 3 votes on the same name, or distribute them across a few potential names.
c. A person’s name must accompany their vote so that they won’t be accidentally counted twice
d. Votes to be cast via zoom poll, email, and snail mail by June 30.
5. Name announced post Revitalisation Team Meeting in early July.
Message from Crossover On behalf of the Crossover team, thank you for your generous support of our 2020 Easter Offering. We know this was a particularly unusual Easter and we recognise the difficulty in collecting an offering in the absence of a physical gathering.
We are still happily accepting Easter Offering donations and will continue to do so indefinitely. As this is Crossover’s only source of funding, it is vital to us as a movement to facilitate and support church leaders with creative resources as you equip your congregations for mission. We truly value the opportunity to partner with you and your church in this exciting endeavour.

May Mission Month
People and partnerships – a powerful combination – even in the midst of a global pandemic.
May Mission Month is just around the corner. While it may look different in 2020, May Mission Month is a time each year to focus on mission, engaging with God's heart for all people and partnering with what He is doing among the least-reached through praying, giving and advocating.
This May Mission Month is great opportunity to look outside the current situation and explore mission in a new way. Let’s celebrate all that God is doing among the least-reached, seek His leading as we partner with Him and deepen our commitment to mission both in our local communities and to the ends of the earth.
Graydon Colville from GRN will be with us in Mid Week Musing and Talks on May 17th.
