The Spiritual Care Webinar Series
Baptist Association of NSW & ACT together with BaptistCare NSW & ACT are pleased launch the dates of the final two webinars of the Spiritual Care Series.
The power of storytelling: Tuesday 9th June
Self-care: Wednesday 24th June
These free webinars will give you an overview of topics people are likely to encounter as they support and care for people during Covid-19, at times of crisis, or in day-to-day life. They are for pastors, lay leaders and anyone in a caring role who wants to be further equipped!
Webinar 3: The Power of Storytelling Tuesday 9 June 2020; 7:30-8:30pm
Ken & Judy are experienced and highly respected ministry leaders with backgrounds in psychology and counselling. Together they will be talking about and sharing their experiences in The Power of Stories in the process of healing and recovery. We all have a story which is part of a bigger story, God’s story. Some people feel small and insignificant, thinking that their story is not important. Others, get blinded by self-importance, and fail to listen to the importance of our interrelating stories. A key to quality pastoral care or indeed, deep fellowship and friendship is that we listen well. This session will give you tips on: listening well, helping other make sense of their world as they share their story and helping people gain meaning and purpose in the midst of their struggles. Webinar 4: Self-care Wednesday 24 June 2020; 7:30-8:30pm
Join Vivian Grice and Kathryn Girvan as they unpack the topic Self-care. “Self-care” is an increasingly familiar and commonly used phrase, especially for those involved in any people-helping roles. The concept and practice can be viewed with caution by Christians. It may be interpreted as being selfish or self-centred. However, as this session will reveal, there are sound biblical bases for self-care so that we can serve others effectively as Jesus calls us to do. This webinar will give an overview of the what, the why and the how of vital self-care practices that enable us to care well for others. To register please click the button below. Once you have registered the Webinar details and access link will then be sent to you by Zoom. Register here for Webinar 4 (24/06)
