Unlock the Power of Storytelling: Our Spiritual Care Webinars Continue
The Spiritual Care Series has offered insight into topics that people are likely to encounter as they support and care for people. This series has application not only now during Covid-19 but during times of crisis and day-to-day life.
Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT has developed this series with BaptistCare NSW & ACT to help equip you to provide quality pastoral care, deep fellowship and friendship.
We are just over half way through this four part webinar series. Our third webinar will take place next Tuesday 9/06, unpacking The Power of Storytelling. This session will be directed by Pastor John Macindoe, Lead Pastor from Pennant Hills Baptist Church and is joined by experts Ken and Judy Clendinning, whom are well known in our Church community. This session like the others in this series is set to provide practical advice and tips and a time for questions.
Webinar 3: The Power of Storytelling 9 June 2020; 7:30-8:30pm FREE
Ken and Judy are experienced and highly respected ministry leaders with backgrounds in psychology and counselling. Together they will be talking about and sharing their experiences on The Power of Stories in the process of healing and recovery. We all have a story which is part of a bigger story, God’s story. Some people feel small and insignificant, thinking that their story is not important. Others, get blinded by self-importance, and fail to listen to the importance of our interrelating stories. A key to quality pastoral care or indeed, deep fellowship and friendship is that we listen well.
This session will give you tips on:
Helping other make sense of their world as they share their story
Helping people gain meaning and purpose in the midst of their struggles
Speakers Ken Clendinning
As well as many years as a pastor, theological college lecturer and in denominational leadership here in NSW, Ken also trained and practised in the areas of psychology and counselling. In the past few years, Ken has been working in interim capacities with churches throughout Australia assisting them through periods of transition and renewal. Currently, he is part of the pastoral team at Central Baptist Church, a multicultural church in the centre of Sydney, while still continuing in a sports chaplaincy role. Ken and Judy are the proud parents of 4 married children and have 10 grandchildren.
Speakers Judy Clendinning
